Surah 99
الزلزلةAz-Zalzalah
The Earthquake · 8 verses · 36 words
بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
إِذَاWhenزُلْزِلَتِis shakenالْأَرْضُthe earthزِلْزَالَهَا(with) its earthquake
When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake
وَأَخْرَجَتِAnd brings forthالْأَرْضُthe earthأَثْقَالَهَاits burdens
And the earth discharges its burdens
وَقَالَAnd saysالْإِنسَانُmanمَاWhat?لَهَا(is) with it
And man says, "What is [wrong] with it
يَوْمَئِذٍThat Dayتُحَدِّثُit will reportأَخْبَارَهَاits news
That Day, it will report its news
بِأَنَّBecauseرَبَّكَyour Lordأَوْحَىٰinspiredلَهَا[to] it
Because your Lord has commanded it
يَوْمَئِذٍThat Dayيَصْدُرُwill proceedالنَّاسُthe mankindأَشْتَاتًا(in) scattered groupsلِّيُرَوْاto be shownأَعْمَالَهُمْtheir deeds
That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds
فَمَنSo whoeverيَعْمَلْdoesمِثْقَالَ(equal to the) weightذَرَّةٍ(of) an atomخَيْرًاgoodيَرَهُۥwill see it
So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَعْمَلْdoesمِثْقَالَ(equal to the) weightذَرَّةٍ(of) an atomشَرًّاevilيَرَهُۥwill see it
And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it
