Surah 86
الطارقAt-Tariq

بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
وَالسَّمَآءِBy the skyوَالطَّارِقِand the night comer
By the sky and the night comer
وَمَآAnd what?أَدْرَاكَcan make you knowمَاwhat?الطَّارِقُthe night comer (is)
And what can make you know what is the night comer
النَّجْمُ(It is) the starالثَّاقِبُthe piercing!
It is the piercing star
إِنNotكُلُّ(is) everyنَفْسٍsoulلَّمَّاbutعَلَيْهَاover itحَافِظٌ(is) a protector
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector
فَلْيَنظُرِSo let seeالْإِنسَانُmanمِمَّfrom whatخُلِقَhe is created
So let man observe from what he was created
خُلِقَHe is createdمِنfromمَّآءٍa waterدَافِقٍejected
He was created from a fluid, ejected
يَخْرُجُComing forthمِنfromبَيْنِbetweenالصُّلْبِthe backboneوَالتَّرَآئِبِand the ribs
Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs
إِنَّهُۥIndeed Heعَلَىٰtoرَجْعِهِۦreturn himلَقَادِرٌ(is) Able
Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able
يَوْمَ(The) Dayتُبْلَىwill be testedالسَّرَآئِرُthe secrets
The Day when secrets will be put on trial
فَمَاThen notلَهُۥ(is) for himمِنanyقُوَّةٍpowerوَلَاand notنَاصِرٍany helper
Then man will have no power or any helper
وَالسَّمَآءِBy the skyذَاتِwhichالرَّجْعِreturns
By the sky which returns [rain]
وَالْأَرْضِAnd the earthذَاتِwhichالصَّدْعِcracks open
And [by] the earth which cracks open
إِنَّهُۥIndeed itلَقَوْلٌ(is) surely a Wordفَصْلٌdecisive
Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement
وَمَاAnd notهُوَitبِالْهَزْلِ(is) for amusement
And it is not amusement
إِنَّهُمْIndeed theyيَكِيدُونَare plottingكَيْدًاa plot
Indeed, they are planning a plan
وَأَكِيدُBut I am planningكَيْدًاa plan
But I am planning a plan
فَمَهِّلِSo give respiteالْكَافِرِينَ(to) the disbelieversأَمْهِلْهُمْGive respite to themرُوَيْدًاlittle
So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile
