Surah 84
الإنشقاقAl-Inshiqaq

بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
إِذَاWhenالسَّمَآءُthe skyانشَقَّتْis split asunder
When the sky has split [open]
وَأَذِنَتْAnd has listenedلِرَبِّهَاto its Lordوَحُقَّتْand was obligated
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
وَإِذَاAnd whenالْأَرْضُthe earthمُدَّتْis spread
And when the earth has been extended
وَأَلْقَتْAnd has cast outمَاwhatفِيهَا(is) in itوَتَخَلَّتْand becomes empty
And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]
وَأَذِنَتْAnd has listenedلِرَبِّهَاto its Lordوَحُقَّتْand was obligated
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
يَاأَيُّهَاOالْإِنسَانُmankind!إِنَّكَIndeed youكَادِحٌ(are) laboringإِلَىٰtoرَبِّكَyour Lordكَدْحًا(with) exertionفَمُلَاقِيهِand you (will) meet Him
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it
فَأَمَّاThen as forمَنْ(him) whoأُوتِىَis givenكِتَابَهُۥhis recordبِيَمِينِهِin his right (hand)
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand
فَسَوْفَThen soonيُحَاسَبُhis account will be takenحِسَابًاan accountيَسِيرًاeasy
He will be judged with an easy account
وَيَنقَلِبُAnd he will returnإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِۦhis peopleمَسْرُورًاhappily
And return to his people in happiness
وَأَمَّاBut as forمَنْ(him) whoأُوتِىَis givenكِتَابَهُۥhis recordوَرَآءَbehindظَهْرِهِۦhis back
But as for he who is given his record behind his back
فَسَوْفَThen soonيَدْعُواhe will callثُبُورًا(for) destruction
He will cry out for destruction
وَيَصْلَىٰAnd he will burnسَعِيرًا(in) a Blaze
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze
إِنَّهُۥIndeed heكَانَhad beenفِىٓamongأَهْلِهِۦhis peopleمَسْرُورًاhappy
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness
إِنَّهُۥIndeed heظَنَّ(had) thoughtأَنthatلَّنneverيَحُورَhe would return
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]
بَلَىٰٓYes!إِنَّIndeedرَبَّهُۥhis Lordكَانَwasبِهِۦof himبَصِيرًاAll-Seer
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing
فَلَآBut nay!أُقْسِمُI swearبِالشَّفَقِby the twilight glow
So I swear by the twilight glow
وَالَّيْلِAnd the nightوَمَاand whatوَسَقَit envelops
And [by] the night and what it envelops
وَالْقَمَرِAnd the moonإِذَاwhenاتَّسَقَit becomes full
And [by] the moon when it becomes full
لَتَرْكَبُنَّYou will surely embarkطَبَقًا(to) stageعَنfromطَبَقٍstage
[That] you will surely experience state after state
فَمَاSo what?لَهُمْ(is) for themلَاnotيُؤْمِنُونَthey believe
So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe
وَإِذَاAnd whenقُرِئَis recitedعَلَيْهِمُto themالْقُرْاٰنُthe Quranلَاnotيَسْجُدُونَthey prostrate
And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]
بَلِNay!الَّذِينَThose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedيُكَذِّبُونَdeny
But those who have disbelieved deny
وَٱللّٰهُAnd Allahأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingبِمَاof whatيُوعُونَthey keep within themselves
And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves
فَبَشِّرْهُمso give them tidingsبِعَذَابٍof a punishmentأَلِيمٍpainful
So give them tidings of a painful punishment
إِلَّاExceptالَّذِينَthose whoاٰمَنُواْbelieveوَعَمِلُواْand doالصَّالِحَاتِrighteous deedsلَهُمْFor themأَجْرٌ(is) a rewardغَيْرُneverمَمْنُونٍending
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted
