بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
الرَّحْمَٰنُThe Most Gracious
The Most Merciful
عَلَّمَHe taughtالْقُرْاٰنَthe Quran
Taught the Qur'an
خَلَقَHe createdالْإِنسَانَ[the] man
Created man
عَلَّمَهُHe taught himالْبَيَانَ[the] speech
[And] taught him eloquence
الشَّمْسُThe sunوَالْقَمَرُand the moonبِحُسْبَانٍby (precise) calculation
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation
وَالنَّجْمُAnd the starsوَالشَّجَرُand the treesيَسْجُدَانِboth prostrate
And the stars and trees prostrate
وَالسَّمَآءَAnd the heavenرَفَعَهَاHe raised itوَوَضَعَand He has set upالْمِيزَانَthe balance
And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
أَلَّاThat notتَطْغَوْاyou may transgressفِىinالْمِيزَانِthe balance
That you not transgress within the balance
وَأَقِيمُواAnd establishالْوَزْنَthe weightبِالْقِسْطِin justiceوَلَاand (do) notتُخْسِرُواْmake deficientالْمِيزَانَthe balance
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance
وَالْأَرْضَAnd the earthوَضَعَهَاHe laid itلِلْأَنَامِfor the creatures
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures
فِيهَاThereinفَاكِهَةٌ(is) fruitوَالنَّخْلُand date-palmsذَاتُhavingالْأَكْمَامِsheaths
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
وَالْحَبُّAnd the grainذُوhavingالْعَصْفِhuskوَالرَّيْحَانُand scented plants
And grain having husks and scented plants
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
خَلَقَHe createdالْإِنسَانَthe manمِنfromصَلْصَالٍclayكَالْفَخَّارِlike the pottery
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery
وَخَلَقَAnd He createdالْجَآنَّthe jinnمِنfromمَّارِجٍa smokeless flameمِّنofنَّارٍfire
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
رَبُّLordالْمَشْرِقَيْنِ(of) the two Eastsوَرَبُّand Lordالْمَغْرِبَيْنِ(of) the two Wests
[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
مَرَجَHe releasedالْبَحْرَيْنِthe two seasيَلْتَقِيَانِmeeting
He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]
بَيْنَهُمَاBetween both of themبَرْزَخٌ(is) a barrierلَّاnotيَبْغِيَانِthey both transgress
Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
يَخْرُجُCome forthمِنْهُمَاfrom both of themاللُّؤْلُؤُthe pearlوَالْمَرْجَانُand the coral
From both of them emerge pearl and coral
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
وَلَهُAnd for Himالْجَوَارِ(are) the shipsالْمُنشَآتُelevatedفِىinالْبَحْرِthe seaكَالْأَعْلَامِlike mountains
And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
كُلُّEveryoneمَنْwhoعَلَيْهَا(is) on itفَانٍ(will) perish
Everyone upon the earth will perish
وَيَبْقَىٰBut will remainوَجْهُ(the) Faceرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordذُو(the) Ownerالْجَلَالِ(of) Majestyوَالْإِكْرَامِand Honor
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
يَسْـَٔلُهُAsks Himمَنwhoeverفِى(is) inالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَالْأَرْضِand the earthكُلَّEveryيَوْمٍdayهُوَHeفِى(is) inشَأْنٍa matter
Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
سَنَفْرُغُSoon We will attendلَكُمْto youأَيُّهَاO youالثَّقَلَانِtwo classes!
We will attend to you, O prominent beings
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
يَامَعْشَرَO assemblyالْجِنِّ(of) the jinnوَالْإِنسِand the men!إِنِIfاسْتَطَعْتُمْyou are ableأَنtoتَنفُذُواpass beyondمِنْ[of]أَقْطَارِ(the) regionsالسَّمَاوَاتِ(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِand the earthفَانفُذُواthen passلَاNotتَنفُذُونَyou (can) passإِلَّاexceptبِسُلْطَانٍby authority
O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah]
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
يُرْسَلُWill be sentعَلَيْكُمَاagainst both of youشُوَاظٌa flameمِّنofنَّارٍfireوَنُحَاسٌand smokeفَلَاand notتَنتَصِرَانِyou will (be able to) defend yourselves
There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فَإِذَاThen whenانشَقَّتِis splitالسَّمَآءُthe heavenفَكَانَتْand it becomesوَرْدَةًrose-coloredكَالدِّهَانِlike murky oil
And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فَيَوْمَئِذٍThen (on) that Dayلَّاnotيُسْأَلُwill be askedعَنaboutذَنبِهِۦٓhis sinإِنسٌany manوَلَاand notجَآنٌّany jinn
Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
يُعْرَفُWill be knownالْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminalsبِسِيمَاهُمْby their marksفَيُؤْخَذُand will be seizedبِالنَّوَاصِيby the forelocksوَالْأَقْدَامِand the feet
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
هَٰذِهِۦThisجَهَنَّمُ(is) Hellالَّتِىwhichيُكَذِّبُdenyبِهَا[of it]الْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminals
This is Hell, which the criminals deny
يَطُوفُونَThey will go aroundبَيْنَهَاbetween itوَبَيْنَand betweenحَمِيمٍscalding waterاٰنٍheated
They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree]
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
وَلِمَنْBut for (him) whoخَافَfearsمَقَامَ(the) standingرَبِّهِۦ(before) his Lordجَنَّتَانِ(are) two gardens
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
ذَوَاتَآboth Havingأَفْنَانٍbranches
Having [spreading] branches
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فِيهِمَاIn both of themعَيْنَانِ(are) two springsتَجْرِيَانِboth flowing
In both of them are two springs, flowing
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فِيهِمَاIn both of themمِن[of]كُلِّ(are) everyفَاكِهَةٍfruitsزَوْجَانِ(in) pairs
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
مُتَّكِئِينَRecliningعَلَىٰonفُرُشٍcouchesبَطَائِنُهَا(whose) inner liningsمِنْ(are) ofإِسْتَبْرَقٍbrocadeوَجَنَىand (the) fruitالْجَنَّتَيْنِ(of) both the gardensدَانٍ(is) near
[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فِيهِنَّIn themقَاصِرَاتُ(will be) companions ofالطَّرْفِmodest gazeلَمْnotيَطْمِثْهُنَّhas touched themإِنسٌany manقَبْلَهُمْbefore themوَلَاand notجَآنٌّany jinn
In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
كَأَنَّهُنَّAs if they wereالْيَاقُوتُrubiesوَالْمَرْجَانُand coral
As if they were rubies and coral
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
هَلْNotجَزَآءُ(the) rewardالْإِحْسَانِfor the goodإِلَّاbutالْإِحْسَانُgood
Is the reward for good [anything] but good
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
وَمِنand fromدُونِهِمَاBesides these twoجَنَّتَانِ(are) two gardens
And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
مُدْهَامَّتَانِDark green
Dark green [in color]
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فِيهِمَاIn both of themعَيْنَانِ(are) two springsنَضَّاخَتَانِboth gushing forth
In both of them are two springs, spouting
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فِيهِمَاIn both of themفَاكِهَةٌ(are) fruitsوَنَخْلٌand date-palmsوَرُمَّانٌand pomegranates
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
فِيهِنَّIn themخَيْرَاتٌ(are) goodحِسَانٌand beautiful ones
In them are good and beautiful women
فَبِأَىِّSo which?اٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
حُورٌFair onesمَّقْصُورَاتٌrestrainedفِىinالْخِيَامِthe pavilions
Fair ones reserved in pavilions
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
لَمْNotيَطْمِثْهُنَّhas touched themإِنسٌany manقَبْلَهُمْbefore themوَلَاand notجَآنٌّany jinn
Untouched before them by man or jinni
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
مُتَّكِئِينَRecliningعَلَىٰonرَفْرَفٍcushionsخُضْرٍgreenوَعَبْقَرِىٍّand carpetsحِسَانٍbeautiful
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets
فَبِأَىِّSo whichاٰلَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny
تَبَارَكَBlessed isاسْمُ(the) nameرَبِّكَ(of) your LordذِىOwnerالْجَلَالِ(of) Majestyوَالْإِكْرَامِand Honor
Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor
