القارعةAl-Qari'ah

بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
الْقَارِعَةُThe Striking Calamity!
The Striking Calamity
مَاWhat?الْقَارِعَةُ(is) the Striking Calamity
What is the Striking Calamity
وَمَآAnd what?أَدْرَاكَwill make you knowمَاwhat?الْقَارِعَةُ(is) the Striking Calamity
And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity
يَوْمَ(The) Dayيَكُونُwill beالنَّاسُthe mankindكَالْفَرَاشِlike mothsالْمَبْثُوثِscattered
It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed
وَتَكُونُAnd will beالْجِبَالُthe mountainsكَالْعِهْنِlike woolالْمَنفُوشِfluffed up
And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up
فَأَمَّاThen as forمَن(him) whoseثَقُلَتْ(are) heavyمَوَازِينُهُۥhis scales
Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds]
فَهُوَThen heفِى(will be) inعِيشَةٍa lifeرَّاضِيَةٍpleasant
He will be in a pleasant life
وَأَمَّاBut as forمَنْ(him) whoseخَفَّتْ(are) lightمَوَازِينُهُۥhis scales
But as for one whose scales are light
فَأُمُّهُۥHis abodeهَاوِيَةٌ(will be the) Pit
His refuge will be an abyss
وَمَآAnd what?أَدْرَاكَwill make you knowمَاwhat?هِيَهْit is?
And what can make you know what that is
نَارٌA Fireحَامِيَةٌintensely hot
It is a Fire, intensely hot
