Surah 93
الضحىAd-Duhaa
The Morning Hours · 11 verses · 40 words
بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
وَالضُّحَىٰBy the morning brightness
By the morning brightness
وَالَّيْلِAnd the nightإِذَاwhenسَجَىٰit covers with darkness
And [by] the night when it covers with darkness
مَاNotوَدَّعَكَhas forsaken youرَبُّكَyour Lordوَمَاand notقَلَىٰHe is displeased
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]
وَلَلْآخِرَةُAnd surely the Hereafterخَيْرٌ(is) betterلَّكَfor youمِنَthanالْأُولَىٰthe first
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]
وَلَسَوْفَAnd soonيُعْطِيكَwill give youرَبُّكَyour Lordفَتَرْضَىٰٓthen you will be satisfied
And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied
أَلَمْDid not?يَجِدْكَHe find youيَتِيمًاan orphanفَـَٔاوَىٰand give shelter
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge
وَوَجَدَكَAnd He found youضَالًّاlostفَهَدَىٰso He guided
And He found you lost and guided [you]
وَوَجَدَكَAnd He found youعَآئِلًاin needفَأَغْنَىٰso He made self-sufficient
And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient
فَأَمَّاSo as forالْيَتِيمَthe orphanفَلَاthen (do) notتَقْهَرْoppress
So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]
وَأَمَّاAnd as forالسَّآئِلَone who asksفَلَاthen (do) notتَنْهَرْrepel
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]
وَأَمَّاBut as forبِنِعْمَةِ(the) Favorرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordفَحَدِّثْnarrate
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]
