بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
وَالذَّارِيَاتِBy those scatteringذَرْوًاdispersing
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing
فَالْحَامِلَاتِAnd those carryingوِقْرًاa load
And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water]
فَالْجَارِيَاتِAnd those sailingيُسْرًا(with) ease
And those [ships] sailing with ease
فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِAnd those distributingأَمْرًاCommand
And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter
إِنَّمَاIndeed whatتُوعَدُونَyou are promisedلَصَادِقٌ(is) surely true
Indeed, what you are promised is true
وَإِنَّAnd indeedالدِّينَthe Judgmentلَوَاقِعٌ(is) surely to occur
And indeed, the recompense is to occur
وَالسَّمَآءِBy the heavenذَاتِfull ofالْحُبُكِpathways
By the heaven containing pathways
إِنَّكُمْIndeed youلَفِى(are) surely inقَوْلٍa speechمُّخْتَلِفٍdiffering
Indeed, you are in differing speech
يُؤْفَكُDeluded awayعَنْهُfrom itمَنْ(is he) whoأُفِكَis deluded
Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded
قُتِلَCursed beالْخَرَّاصُونَthe liars
Destroyed are the falsifiers
الَّذِينَThose whoهُمْ[they]فِى(are) inغَمْرَةٍfloodسَاهُونَ(of) heedlessness
Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless
يَسْـَٔلُونَThey askأَيَّانَWhen?يَوْمُ(is the) Dayالدِّينِ(of) Judgment
They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense
يَوْمَA Dayهُمْtheyعَلَىoverالنَّارِthe Fireيُفْتَنُونَwill be tried
[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire
ذُوقُواTasteفِتْنَتَكُمْyour trialهَٰذَاThisالَّذِى(is) whatكُنتُمyou wereبِهِۦfor itتَسْتَعْجِلُونَseeking to hasten
[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient
إِنَّIndeedالْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousفِى(will be) inجَنَّاتٍGardensوَعُيُونٍand springs
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs
اٰخِذِينَTakingمَآwhatاٰتَاهُمْhas given themرَبُّهُمْtheir LordإِنَّهُمْIndeed theyكَانُواwereقَبْلَbeforeذَٰلِكَthatمُحْسِنِينَgood-doers
Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good
كَانُواThey used toقَلِيلًاlittleمِّنَofالَّيْلِthe nightمَا[what]يَهْجَعُونَsleep
They used to sleep but little of the night
وَبِالْأَسْحَارِAnd in the hours before dawnهُمْtheyيَسْتَغْفِرُونَwould ask forgiveness
And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness
وَفِىٓAnd inأَمْوَالِهِمْtheir wealthحَقٌّ(was the) rightلِّلسَّائِلِ(of) those who askedوَالْمَحْرُومِand the deprived
And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived
وَفِىAnd inالْأَرْضِthe earthاٰيَاتٌ(are) signsلِّلْمُوقِنِينَfor those who are certain
And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]
وَفِىٓAnd inأَنفُسِكُمْyourselvesأَفَلَاThen will not?تُبْصِرُونَyou see
And in yourselves. Then will you not see
وَفِىAnd inالسَّمَآءِthe heavenرِزْقُكُمْ(is) your provisionوَمَاand whatتُوعَدُونَyou are promised
And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised
فَوَرَبِّThen by (the) Lordالسَّمَآءِ(of) the heavenوَالْأَرْضِand the earthإِنَّهُۥindeed itلَحَقٌّ(is) surely (the) truthمِّثْلَ(just) asمَآ[what]أَنَّكُمْyouتَنطِقُونَspeak
Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking
هَلْHas?أَتَاكَreached youحَدِيثُ(the) narrationضَيْفِ(of the) guestsإِبْرَاهِيمَ(of) Ibrahimالْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored
Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham
إِذْWhenدَخَلُواthey enteredعَلَيْهِupon himفَقَالُواand saidسَلَامًاPeaceقَالَHe saidسَلَامٌPeaceقَوْمٌa peopleمُّنكَرُونَunknown
When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown
فَرَاغَThen he wentإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِۦhis householdفَجَآءَand cameبِعِجْلٍwith a calfسَمِينٍfat
Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓAnd he placed it nearإِلَيْهِمْ[to] themقَالَhe saidأَلَاWill not?تَأْكُلُونَyou eat
And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat
فَأَوْجَسَThen he feltمِنْهُمْfrom themخِيفَةًa fearقَالُواْThey saidلَا(Do) notتَخَفْfearوَبَشَّرُوهُand they gave him glad tidingsبِغُلَامٍof a sonعَلِيمٍlearned
And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy
فَأَقْبَلَتِThen came forwardامْرَأَتُهُۥhis wifeفِىwithصَرَّةٍa loud voiceفَصَكَّتْand struckوَجْهَهَاher faceوَقَالَتْand she saidعَجُوزٌAn old womanعَقِيمٌbarren!
And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman
قَالُواْThey saidكَذَٰلِكِThusقَالَsaidرَبُّكِyour LordإِنَّهُۥIndeed Heهُوَ[He]الْحَكِيمُ(is) the All-Wiseالْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower
They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing
قَالَHe saidفَمَاThen whatخَطْبُكُمْ(is) your missionأَيُّهَاO messengersالْمُرْسَلُونَO messengers
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers
قَالُوٓاْThey saidإِنَّآIndeed weأُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sentإِلَىٰtoقَوْمٍa peopleمُّجْرِمِينَcriminal
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
لِنُرْسِلَThat we may send downعَلَيْهِمْupon themحِجَارَةًstonesمِّنofطِينٍclay
To send down upon them stones of clay
مُسَوَّمَةًMarkedعِندَbyرَبِّكَyour Lordلِلْمُسْرِفِينَfor the transgressors
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors
فَأَخْرَجْنَاThen We brought outمَن(those) whoكَانَwereفِيهَاthereinمِنَofالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers
So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers
فَمَاBut notوَجَدْنَاWe foundفِيهَاthereinغَيْرَother thanبَيْتٍa houseمِّنَofالْمُسْلِمِينَthe Muslims
And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims
وَتَرَكْنَاAnd We leftفِيهَآthereinاٰيَةًa Signلِّلَّذِينَfor those whoيَخَافُونَfearالْعَذَابَthe punishmentالْأَلِيمَthe painful
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment
وَفِىAnd inمُوسَىٰٓMusaإِذْwhenأَرْسَلْنَاهُWe sent himإِلَىٰtoفِرْعَوْنَFiraunبِسُلْطَانٍwith an authorityمُّبِينٍclear
And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority
فَتَوَلَّىٰBut he turned awayبِرُكْنِهِۦwith his supportersوَقَالَand saidسَاحِرٌA magicianأَوْorمَجْنُونٌa madman
But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman
فَأَخَذْنَاهُSo We took himوَجُنُودَهُۥand his hostsفَنَبَذْنَاهُمْand We threw themفِىintoالْيَمِّthe seaوَهُوَwhile heمُلِيمٌ(was) blameworthy
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy
وَفِىAnd inعَادٍAadإِذْwhenأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentعَلَيْهِمُagainst themالرِّيحَthe windالْعَقِيمَthe barren
And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind
مَاNotتَذَرُit leftمِنanyشَىْءٍthingأَتَتْit cameعَلَيْهِupon itإِلَّاbutجَعَلَتْهُit made itكَالرَّمِيمِlike disintegrated ruins
It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins
وَفِىAnd inثَمُودَThamudإِذْwhenقِيلَwas saidلَهُمْto themتَمَتَّعُواEnjoy (yourselves)حَتَّىٰforحِينٍa time
And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time
فَعَتَوْاBut they rebelledعَنْagainstأَمْرِ(the) Commandرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordفَأَخَذَتْهُمُso seized themالصَّاعِقَةُthe thunderboltوَهُمْwhile theyيَنظُرُونَwere looking
But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on
فَمَاThen notاسْتَطَاعُواْthey were able toمِن[of]قِيَامٍstandوَمَاand notكَانُواthey couldمُنتَصِرِينَhelp themselves
And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves
وَقَوْمَAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍ(of) Nuhمِّنfromقَبْلُbeforeإِنَّهُمْindeed theyكَانُواwereقَوْمًاa peopleفَاسِقِينَdefiantly disobedient
And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient
وَالسَّمَآءَAnd the heavenبَنَيْنَاهَاWe constructed itبِأَيْيدٍwith strengthوَإِنَّاand indeed Weلَمُوسِعُونَ(are) surely (its) Expanders
And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander
وَالْأَرْضَAnd the earthفَرَشْنَاهَاWe have spread itفَنِعْمَhow excellentالْمَاهِدُونَ(are) the Spreaders!
And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer
وَمِنAnd ofكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingخَلَقْنَاWe have createdزَوْجَيْنِpairsلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَremember
And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember
فَفِرُّوٓاSo fleeإِلَىtoاللهِAllahإِنِّىindeed I amلَكُمto youمِّنْهُfrom Himنَذِيرٌa warnerمُّبِينٌclear
So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner
وَلَاAnd (do) notتَجْعَلُواmakeمَعَwithاللهِAllahإِلَٰهًاgodاٰخَرَanotherإِنِّىIndeed I amلَكُمto youمِّنْهُfrom Himنَذِيرٌa warnerمُّبِينٌclear
And do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner
كَذَٰلِكَLikewiseمَآnotأَتَىcameالَّذِينَ(to) thoseمِنfromقَبْلِهِمbefore themمِّنanyرَّسُولٍMessengerإِلَّاbutقَالُواْthey saidسَاحِرٌA magicianأَوْorمَجْنُونٌa madman
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman
أَتَوَاصَوْاHave they transmitted it to them?بِهِۦHave they transmitted it to themبَلْNayهُمْtheyقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleطَاغُونَtransgressing
Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people
فَتَوَلَّSo turn awayعَنْهُمْfrom themفَمَآfor notأَنتَyouبِمَلُومٍ(are) to be blamed
So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed
وَذَكِّرْAnd remindفَإِنَّfor indeedالذِّكْرَىٰthe reminderتَنفَعُbenefitsالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers
وَمَاAnd notخَلَقْتُI have createdالْجِنَّthe jinnوَالْإِنسَand the mankindإِلَّاexceptلِيَعْبُدُونِthat they worship Me
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me
مَآNotأُرِيدُI wantمِنْهُمfrom themمِّنanyرِّزْقٍprovisionوَمَآand notأُرِيدُI wantأَنthatيُطْعِمُونِthey (should) feed Me
I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me
إِنَّIndeedاللهَAllahهُوَHeالرَّزَّاقُ(is) the All-ProviderذُوPossessorالْقُوَّةِ(of) Powerالْمَتِينُthe Strong
Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength
فَإِنَّSo indeedلِلَّذِينَfor those whoظَلَمُواdo wrongذَنُوبًا(is) a portionمِّثْلَlikeذَنُوبِ(the) portionأَصْحَابِهِمْ(of) their companionsفَلَاso notيَسْتَعْجِلُونِlet them ask Me to hasten
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me
فَوَيْلٌThen woeلِّلَّذِينَto those whoكَفَرُواdisbelieveمِنfromيَوْمِهِمُtheir Dayالَّذِىwhichيُوعَدُونَthey are promised
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised
