بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
يسٓYa Seen
Ya, Seen
وَالْقُرْآنِBy the Quranالْحَكِيمِthe Wise
By the wise Qur'an
إِنَّكَIndeed youلَمِنَ(are) amongالْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers
Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers
عَلَىٰOnصِرَاطٍa PathمُّسْتَقِيمٍStraight
On a straight path
تَنزِيلَA revelationالْعَزِيزِ(of) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
لِتُنذِرَThat you may warnقَوْمًاa peopleمَّآnotأُنذِرَwere warnedاٰبَآؤُهُمْtheir forefathersفَهُمْso theyغَافِلُونَ(are) heedless
That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware
لَقَدْCertainlyحَقَّ(has) proved trueالْقَوْلُthe wordعَلَىٰٓuponأَكْثَرِهِمْmost of themفَهُمْso theyلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَbelieve
Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe
إِنَّاIndeed Weجَعَلْنَا[We] have placedفِىٓonأَعْنَاقِهِمْtheir necksأَغْلَالًاiron collarsفَهِىَand theyإِلَى(are up) toالْأَذْقَانِthe chinsفَهُمso theyمُّقْمَحُونَ(are with) heads raised up
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madeمِنfromبَيْنِamong (before them)أَيْدِيهِمْtheir hands (before them)سَدًّاa barrierوَمِنْand fromخَلْفِهِمْbehind themسَدًّاa barrierفَأَغْشَيْنَاهُمْand We covered themفَهُمْso theyلَا(do) notيُبْصِرُونَsee
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see
وَسَوَآءٌAnd it (is) sameعَلَيْهِمْto themءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْwhether you warn themأَمْorلَمْ(do) notتُنذِرْهُمْwarn themلَاnotيُؤْمِنُونَthey will believe
And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe
إِنَّمَاOnlyتُنذِرُyou (can) warnمَنِ(him) whoاتَّبَعَfollowsالذِّكْرَthe Reminderوَخَشِىَand fearsالرَّحْمَٰنَthe Most Graciousبِالْغَيْبِin the unseenفَبَشِّرْهُSo give him glad tidingsبِمَغْفِرَةٍof forgivenessوَأَجْرٍand a rewardكَرِيمٍnoble
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward
إِنَّاIndeed Weنَحْنُ[We]نُحْيِىِ[We] give lifeالْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the deadوَنَكْتُبُand We recordمَاwhatقَدَّمُواthey have sent beforeوَآثَارَهُمْand their footprintsوَكُلَّand everyشَىْءٍthingأحْصَيْنَاهُWe have enumerated itفِىٓinإِمَامٍa Registerمُبِينٍclear
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register
وَاضْرِبْAnd set forthلَهُمto themمَّثَلًاan exampleأَصْحَابَ(of the) companionsالْقَرْيَةِ(of) the cityإِذْwhenجَآءَهَاcame to itالْمُرْسَلُونَthe Messengers
And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it
إِذْWhenأَرْسَلْنَآWe sentإِلَيْهِمُto themاثْنَيْنِtwo (Messengers)فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاbut they denied both of themفَعَزَّزْنَاso We strengthened themبِثَالِثٍwith a thirdفَقَالُوٓاand they saidإِنَّآIndeed Weإِلَيْكُمto youمُّرْسَلُونَ(are) Messengers
When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you
قَالُواْThey saidمَآNotأَنتُمْyouإِلَّا(are) butبَشَرٌhuman beingsمِّثْلُنَاlike usوَمَآand notأَنزَلَhas revealedالرَّحْمَٰنُthe Most GraciousمِنanyشَىْءٍthingإِنْNotأَنتُمْyouإِلَّا(are) butتَكْذِبُونَlying
They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies
قَالُواْThey saidرَبُّنَاOur Lordيَعْلَمُknowsإِنَّآthat weإِلَيْكُمْto youلَمُرْسَلُونَ(are) surely Messengers
They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you
وَمَاAnd notعَلَيْنَآ(is) on usإِلَّاexceptالْبَلَاغُthe conveyanceالْمُبِينُclear
And we are not responsible except for clear notification
قَالُوٓاْThey saidإِنَّاIndeed weتَطَيَّرْنَا[we] see an evil omenبِكُمْfrom youلَئِنIfلَّمْnotتَنتَهُواyou desistلَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْsurely we will stone youوَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمand surely will touch youمِّنَّاfrom usعَذَابٌa punishmentأَلِيمٌpainful
They said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment
قَالُواْThey saidطَائِرُكُمْYour evil omenمَّعَكُمْ(be) with you!أَئِنIs it because?ذُكِّرْتُمyou are admonishedبَلْNayأَنتُمْyouقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleمُّسْرِفُونَtransgressing
They said, "Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people
وَجَآءَAnd cameمِنْfromأَقْصَا(the) farthest endالْمَدِينَةِ(of) the cityرَجُلٌa manيَسْعَىٰrunningقَالَHe saidيَاقَوْمِO my People!اتَّبِعُواْFollowالْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers
اتَّبِعُواْFollowمَن(those) whoلَّا(do) notيَسْـَٔلُكُمْask (of) youأَجْرًاany paymentوَهُمand theyمُّهْتَدُونَ(are) rightly guided
Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided
وَمَاAnd what?لِىَ(is) for meلَآ(that) notأَعْبُدُI worshipالَّذِىthe One Whoفَطَرَنِىcreated meوَإِلَيْهِand to Whomتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned
And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned
ءَأَتَّخِذُShould I take?مِنfromدُونِهِۦٓbesides HimاٰلِهَةًgodsإِنIfيُرِدْنِintends for meالرَّحْمَٰنُthe Most Graciousبِضُرٍّany harmلَّاnotتُغْنِwill availعَنِّى[from] meشَفَاعَتُهُمْtheir intercessionشَيْئًا(in) anythingوَلَاand notيُنقِذُونِthey (can) save me
Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me
إِنِّىٓIndeed Iإِذًاthenلَّفِىsurely would be inضَلَالٍan errorمُّبِينٍclear
Indeed, I would then be in manifest error
إِنِّىٓIndeed Iاٰمَنتُ[I] have believedبِرَبِّكُمْin your Lordفَاسْمَعُونِso listen to me
Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me
قِيلَIt was saidادْخُلِEnterالْجَنَّةَParadiseقَالَHe saidيَالَيْتَI wishقَوْمِىmy peopleيَعْلَمُونَknew
It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know
بِمَاOf howغَفَرَhas forgivenلِىmeرَبِّىmy Lordوَجَعَلَنِىand placed meمِنَamongالْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored ones
Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored
وَمَآAnd notأَنزَلْنَاWe sent downعَلَىٰuponقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleمِنfromبَعْدِهِۦafter himمِنْanyجُندٍhostمِّنَfromالسَّمَآءِthe heavenوَمَاand notكُنَّاwere Weمُنزِلِينَ(to) send down
And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so
إِنNotكَانَتْit wasإِلَّاbutصَيْحَةًa shoutوَاحِدَةًoneفَإِذَاthen behold!هُمْTheyخَامِدُونَ(were) extinguished
It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished
يَاحَسْرَةًAlasعَلَىforالْعِبَادِthe servants!مَاNotيَأْتِيهِمcame to themمِّنanyرَّسُولٍMessengerإِلَّاbutكَانُواthey didبِهِۦat himيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock
How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him
أَلَمْDo not?يَرَوْاthey seeكَمْhow many?أَهْلَكْنَاWe destroyedقَبْلَهُمbefore themمِّنْofالْقُرُونِthe generationsأَنَّهُمْThat theyإِلَيْهِمْto themلَاnotيَرْجِعُونَwill return
Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return
وَإِنAnd surelyكُلٌّallلَّمَّاthenجَمِيعٌtogetherلَّدَيْنَاbefore Usمُحْضَرُونَ(will be) brought
And indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us
وَآيَةٌAnd a Signلَّهُمُfor themالْأَرْضُ(is) the earthالْمَيْتَةُdeadأَحْيَيْنَاهَاWe give it lifeوَأَخْرَجْنَاand We bring forthمِنْهَاfrom itحَبًّاgrainفَمِنْهُand from itيَأْكُلُونَthey eat
And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We placedفِيهَاthereinجَنَّاتٍgardensمِّنْofنَّخِيلٍdate-palmsوَأَعْنَابٍand grapevinesوَفَجَّرْنَاand We caused to gush forthفِيهَاin itمِنَofالْعُيُونِthe springs
And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs
لِيَأْكُلُواThat they may eatمِنofثَمَرِهِۦits fruitوَمَاAnd notعَمِلَتْهُmade itأَيْدِيهِمْtheir handsأَفَلَاSo will not?يَشْكُرُونَthey be grateful
That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful
سُبْحَٰنَGlory beالَّذِى(to) the One Whoخَلَقَcreatedالْأَزْوَاجَ(in) pairsكُلَّهَاallمِمَّاof whatتُنبِتُgrowsالْأَرْضُthe earthوَمِنْand ofأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesوَمِمَّاand of whatلَاnotيَعْلَمُونَthey know
Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know
وَآيَةٌAnd a Signلَّهُمْfor themالَّيْلُ(is) the nightنَسْلَخُWe withdrawمِنْهُfrom itالنَّهَارَthe dayفَإِذَاThen behold!هُمTheyمُّظْلِمُونَ(are) those in darkness
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness
وَالشَّمْسُAnd the sunتَجْرِىrunsلِمُسْتَقَرٍّto a term appointedلَّهَاfor itذَٰلِكَThatتَقْدِيرُ(is the) Decreeالْعَزِيزِ(of) the All-Mightyالْعَلِيمِthe All-Knowing
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing
وَالْقَمَرَAnd the moonقَدَّرْنَاهُWe have ordained for itمَنَازِلَphasesحَتَّىٰuntilعَادَit returnsكَالْعُرْجُونِlike the date stalkالْقَدِيمِthe old
And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk
لَاNotالشَّمْسُthe sunيَنبَغِىis permittedلَهَآfor itأَنthatتُدْرِكَit overtakesالْقَمَرَthe moonوَلَاand notالَّيْلُthe nightسَابِقُ(can) outstripالنَّهَارِthe dayوَكُلٌّbut allفِىinفَلَكٍan orbitيَسْبَحُونَthey are floating
It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming
وَآيَةٌAnd a Signلَّهُمْfor themأَنَّا(is) thatحَمَلْنَاWe carriedذُرِّيَّتَهُمْtheir offspringفِىinالْفُلْكِthe shipالْمَشْحُونِladen
And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship
وَخَلَقْنَاAnd We createdلَهُمfor themمِّنfromمِّثْلِهِۦ(the) likes of itمَاwhatيَرْكَبُونَthey ride
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride
وَإِنAnd ifنَّشَأْWe willنُغْرِقْهُمْWe could drown themفَلَاthen notصَرِيخَ(would be) a responder to a cryلَهُمْfor themوَلَاand notهُمْtheyيُنقَذُونَwould be saved
And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved
إِلَّاExceptرَحْمَةً(by) Mercyمِّنَّاfrom Usوَمَتَاعًاand provisionإِلَىٰforحِينٍa time
Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time
وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themاتَّقُواْFearمَاwhatبَيْنَbetween (is before you)أَيْدِيكُمْyour hands (is before you)وَمَاand whatخَلْفَكُمْ(is) behind youلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercy
But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy
وَمَاAnd notتَأْتِيهِمcomes to themمِّنْofاٰيَةٍa Signمِّنْfromاٰيَاتِ(the) Signsرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordإِلَّاbutكَانُواtheyعَنْهَاfrom itمُعْرِضِينَturn away
And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away
وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمْto themأَنفِقُواSpendمِمَّاfrom whatرَزَقَكُمُ(has) provided youاللهُAllahقَالَSaidالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواdisbelievedلِلَّذِينَto those whoاٰمَنُواْbelievedأَنُطْعِمُShould we feed?مَنwhomلَّوْifيَشَآءُwilledاللهُAllahأَطْعَمَهُۥٓHe would have fed himإِنْNotأَنتُمْ(are) youإِلَّاexceptفِىinضَلَالٍan errorمُّبِينٍclear
And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayمَتَىٰWhen (is)?هَٰذَاthisالْوَعْدُpromiseإِنifكُنتُمْyou areصَادِقِينَtruthful
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful
مَاNotيَنظُرُونَthey awaitإِلَّاexceptصَيْحَةًa shoutوَاحِدَةًoneتَأْخُذُهُمْit will seize themوَهُمْwhile theyيَخِصِّمُونَare disputing
They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing
فَلَاThen notيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey will be ableتَوْصِيَةً(to) make a willوَلَآand notإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِمْtheir peopleيَرْجِعُونَthey (can) return
And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return
وَنُفِخَAnd will be blownفِى[in]الصُّورِthe trumpetفَإِذَاand behold!هُمTheyمِّنَfromالْأَجْدَاثِthe gravesإِلَىٰtoرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordيَنسِلُونَ[they] will hasten
And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten
قَالُواْThey [will] sayيَاوَيْلَنَآO woe to us!مَنWhoبَعَثَنَاhas raised usمِنfromمَّرْقَدِنَاour sleeping placeهَٰذَاThis (is)مَاwhatوَعَدَ(had) promisedالرَّحْمَٰنُthe Most Graciousوَصَدَقَand told (the) truthالْمُرْسَلُونَthe Messengers
They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth
إِنNotكَانَتْit will beإِلَّاbutصَيْحَةًa shoutوَاحِدَةًsingleفَإِذَاso behold!هُمْTheyجَمِيعٌallلَّدَيْنَاbefore Usمُحْضَرُونَ(will be) brought
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us
فَالْيَوْمَSo this Dayلَاnotتُظْلَمُwill be wrongedنَفْسٌa soulشَيْئًا(in) anythingوَلَاand notتُجْزَوْنَyou will be recompensedإِلَّاexceptمَا(for) whatكُنتُمْyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَdo
So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do
إِنَّIndeedأَصْحَابَ(the) companionsالْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseالْيَوْمَthis Dayفِى[in]شُغُلٍwill be occupiedفَاكِهُونَ(in) amusement
Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation
هُمْTheyوَأَزْوَاجُهُمْand their spousesفِىinظِلَالٍshadesعَلَىonالْأَرَائِكِ[the] couchesمُتَّكِئُونَreclining
They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches
لَهُمْFor themفِيهَاthereinفَاكِهَةٌ(are) fruitsوَلَهُمand for themمَّا(is) whateverيَدَّعُونَthey call for
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
سَلَامٌPeaceقَوْلًاA wordمِّنْfromرَّبٍّa LordرَّحِيمٍMost Merciful
[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord
وَامْتَازُواBut stand apartالْيَوْمَtodayأَيُّهَاOالْمُجْرِمُونَcriminals!
[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals
أَلَمْDid not?أَعْهَدْI enjoinإِلَيْكُمْupon youيَابَنِىٓO Children ofاٰدَمَAdam!أَنThatلَّا(do) notتَعْبُدُوٓاْworshipالشَّيْطَانَthe Shaitaanإِنَّهُۥindeed heلَكُمْ(is) for youعَدُوٌّan enemyمُّبِينٌclear
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy
وَأَنِAnd thatاعْبُدُونِىyou worship MeهَٰذَاThisصِرَاطٌ(is) a PathمُّسْتَقِيمٌStraight
And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedأَضَلَّhe led astrayمِنكُمْfrom youجِبِلًّاa multitudeكَثِيرًاgreatأَفَلَمْThen did not?تَكُونُواyouتَعْقِلُونَuse reason
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason
هَٰذِهِThis (is)جَهَنَّمُ(the) Hellالَّتِىwhichكُنتُمْyou wereتُوعَدُونَpromised
This is the Hellfire which you were promised
اصْلَوْهَاBurn thereinالْيَوْمَtodayبِمَاbecauseكُنتُمْyou used toتَكْفُرُونَdisbelieve
[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny
الْيَوْمَThis DayنَخْتِمُWe will sealعَلَىٰٓ[on]أَفْوَاهِهِمْtheir mouthsوَتُكَلِّمُنَآand will speak to Usأَيْدِيهِمْtheir handsوَتَشْهَدُand will bear witnessأَرْجُلُهُمْtheir feetبِمَاabout whatكَانُواthey used toيَكْسِبُونَearn
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn
وَلَوْAnd ifنَشَآءُWe willedلَطَمَسْنَاWe (would have) surely obliteratedعَلَىٰٓ[over]أَعْيُنِهِمْtheir eyesفَاسْتَبَقُواthen they (would) raceالصِّرَاطَ(to find) the pathفَأَنَّىٰthen how?يُبْصِرُونَ(could) they see
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see
وَلَوْAnd ifنَشَآءُWe willedلَمَسَخْنَاهُمْsurely We (would have) transformed themعَلَىٰinمَكَانَتِهِمْtheir placesفَمَاthen notاسْتَطَاعُواْthey would have been ableمُضِيًّاto proceedوَلَاand notيَرْجِعُونَreturn
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return
وَمَنAnd (he) whomنُعَمِّرْهُWe grant him long lifeنُنَكِّسْهُWe reverse himفِىinالْخَلْقِthe creationأَفَلَاThen will not?يَعْقِلُونَthey use intellect
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand
وَمَاAnd notعَلَّمْنَاهُWe taught himالشِّعْرَ[the] poetryوَمَاand notيَنبَغِىit is befittingلَهُۥٓfor himإِنْNotهُوَitإِلَّا(is) exceptذِكْرٌa Reminderوَقُرْآنٌand a Quranمُّبِينٌclear
And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an
لِّيُنذِرَTo warnمَن(him) whoكَانَisحَيًّاaliveوَيَحِقَّand may be proved trueالْقَوْلُthe Wordعَلَىagainstالْكَافِرِينَthe disbelievers
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers
أَوَلَمْDo not?يَرَوْاthey seeأَنَّاthat Weخَلَقْنَا[We] createdلَهُمfor themمِّمَّاfrom whatعَمِلَتْhave madeأَيْدِينَآOur handsأَنْعَامًاcattleفَهُمْthen theyلَهَا[for them]مَالِكُونَ(are the) owners
Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners
وَذَلَّلْنَاهَاAnd We have tamed themلَهُمْfor themفَمِنْهَاso some of themرَكُوبُهُمْthey ride themوَمِنْهَاand some of themيَأْكُلُونَthey eat
And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat
وَلَهُمْAnd for themفِيهَاthereinمَنَافِعُ(are) benefitsوَمَشَارِبُand drinksأَفَلَاso (will) not?يَشْكُرُونَthey give thanks
And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful
وَاتَّخَذُواBut they have takenمِنfromدُونِbesidesاللهِAllahاٰلِهَةًgodsلَّعَلَّهُمْthat they mayيُنصَرُونَbe helped
But they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped
لَاNotيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are ableنَصْرَهُمْto help themوَهُمْbut theyلَهُمْfor themجُندٌ(are) hostsمُّحْضَرُونَ(who will) be brought
They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance
فَلَاSo (let) notيَحْزُنكَgrieve youقَوْلُهُمْtheir speechإِنَّاIndeed Weنَعْلَمُ[We] knowمَاwhatيُسِرُّونَthey concealوَمَاand whatيُعْلِنُونَthey declare
So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare
أَوَلَمْDoes not?يَرَseeالْإِنسَانُ[the] manأَنَّاthat Weخَلَقْنَاهُ[We] created himمِنfromنُّطْفَةٍa semen-dropفَإِذَاThen behold!هُوَHeخَصِيمٌ(is) an opponentمُّبِينٌclear
Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary
وَضَرَبَAnd he sets forthلَنَاfor Usمَثَلًاan exampleوَنَسِىَand forgetsخَلْقَهُۥhis (own) creationقَالَHe saysمَنْWhoيُحْىِwill give lifeالْعِظَامَ(to) the bonesوَهِىَwhile theyرَمِيمٌ(are) decomposed
And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated
قُلْSayيُحْيِيهَاHe will give them lifeالَّذِىٓWhoأَنشَأَهَاproduced themأَوَّلَ(the) firstمَرَّةٍtimeوَهُوَand Heبِكُلِّ(is) of everyخَلْقٍcreationعَلِيمٌAll-Knower
Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing
الَّذِىThe One Whoجَعَلَmadeلَكُمfor youمِّنَfromالشَّجَرِthe treeالْأَخْضَرِ[the] greenنَارًاfireفَإِذَآand behold!أَنتُمYouمِّنْهُfrom itتُوقِدُونَignite
[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite
أَوَلَيْسَIs it not?الَّذِى(He) Whoخَلَقَcreatedالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَالْأَرْضَand the earthبِقَادِرٍAbleعَلَىٰٓtoأَن[that]يَخْلُقَcreateمِثْلَهُم(the) like of themبَلَىٰYes indeed!وَهُوَand Heالْخَلَّاقُ(is) the Supreme Creatorالْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower
Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator
إِنَّمَآOnlyأَمْرُهُۥٓHis CommandإِذَاwhenأَرَادَHe intendsشَيْئًاa thingأَنthatيَقُولَHe saysلَهُۥto itكُنBeفَيَكُونُand it is
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is
فَسُبْحَانَSo glory beالَّذِى(to) the One whoبِيَدِهِin Whose handمَلَكُوتُis (the) dominionكُلِّ(of) allشَىْءٍthingsوَإِلَيْهِand to Himتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returned
So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned
