Surah 105
الفيلAl-Fil
The Elephant · 5 verses · 23 words
بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
أَلَمْHave not?تَرَyou seenكَيْفَhow?فَعَلَdealtرَبُّكَyour Lordبِأَصْحَابِwith (the) Companionsالْفِيلِ(of the) Elephant
Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant
أَلَمْDid not?يَجْعَلْHe makeكَيْدَهُمْtheir planفِىgoتَضْلِيلٍastray
Did He not make their plan into misguidance
وَأَرْسَلَAnd He sentعَلَيْهِمْagainst themطَيْرًاbirdsأَبَابِيلَ(in) flocks
And He sent against them birds in flocks
تَرْمِيهِمStriking themبِحِجَارَةٍwith stonesمِّنofسِجِّيلٍbaked clay
Striking them with stones of hard clay
فَجَعَلَهُمْThen He made themكَعَصْفٍlike strawمَّأْكُولٍeaten up
And He made them like eaten straw
