بِسْمِIn (the) nameاللهِ(of) Allahالرَّحْمَٰنِthe Most Graciousالرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful
الٓرAlif Laam RaتِلْكَTheseاٰيَاتُ(are) the Versesالْكِتَابِ(of) the Bookوَقُرْآنٍand Quranمُّبِينٍclear
Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an
رُّبَمَاPerhapsيَوَدُّwill wishالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواْdisbelievedلَوْifكَانُواْthey had beenمُسْلِمِينَMuslims
Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims
ذَرْهُمْLeave themيَأْكُلُواْ(to) eatوَيَتَمَتَّعُواْand enjoyوَيُلْهِهِمُand diverted themالْأَمَلُthe hopeفَسَوْفَthen soonيَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know
Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know
وَمَآAnd notأَهْلَكْنَاWe destroyedمِنanyقَرْيَةٍtownإِلَّاbutوَلَهَا(there was) for itكِتَابٌa decreeمَّعْلُومٌknown
And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree
مَّاNotتَسْبِقُ(can) advanceمِنْanyأُمَّةٍnationأَجَلَهَاits termوَمَاand notيَسْتَأْخِرُونَ(can) delay it
No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter
وَقَالُواْAnd they sayيَاأَيُّهَاO youالَّذِى(to) whomنُزِّلَhas been sent downعَلَيْهِ[on him]الذِّكْرُthe Reminderإِنَّكَindeed youلَمَجْنُونٌ(are) surely mad
And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad
لَّوْWhyمَاnotتَأْتِينَاyou bring to usبِالْمَلائِكَةِthe Angelsإِنifكُنتَyou areمِنَofالصَّادِقِينَthe truthful
Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful
مَاNotنُنَزِّلُWe send downالْمَلَآئِكَةَthe Angelsإِلَّاexceptبِالْحَقِّwith the truthوَمَاand notكَانُوٓاthey would beإِذًاthenمُّنظَرِينَgiven respite
We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved
إِنَّاIndeed WeنَحْنُWeنَزَّلْنَاWe have sent downالذِّكْرَthe Reminderوَإِنَّاand indeed Weلَهُۥof itلَحَافِظُونَ(are) surely Guardians
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyأَرْسَلْنَاWe (had) sentمِنfromقَبْلِكَbefore youفِىinشِيَعِthe sectsالْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)
And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples
وَمَاAnd notيَأْتِيهِمcame to themمِّنanyرَّسُولٍMessengerإِلَّاbutكَانُواْthey didبِهِۦat himيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock
And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him
كَذَٰلِكَThusنَسْلُكُهُۥWe let it enterفِىinقُلُوبِ(the) heartsالْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminals
Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals
لَاNotيُؤْمِنُونَthey believeبِهِۦin itوَقَدْand verilyخَلَتْhave passedسُنَّةُthe way(s)الْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people)
They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples
وَلَوْAnd (even) ifفَتَحْنَاWe openedعَلَيْهِمto themبَابًاa gateمِّنَfromالسَّمَآءِthe heavenفَظَلُّواْand they were to continueفِيهِthereinيَعْرُجُونَ(to) ascend
And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend
لَقَالُواْThey would surely sayإِنَّمَاOnlyسُكِّرَتْhave been dazzledأَبْصَارُنَاour eyesبَلْNayنَحْنُweقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleمَّسْحُورُونَbewitched
They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyجَعَلْنَاWe have placedفِىinالسَّمَآءِthe heavensبُرُوجًاconstellationsوَزَيَّنَّاهَاand We have beautified itلِلنَّاظِرِينَfor the observers
And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers
وَحَفِظْنَاهَاAnd We have protected itمِنfromكُلِّeveryشَيْطَانٍdevilرَّجِيمٍaccursed
And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah]
إِلَّاExceptمَنِ(one) whoاسْتَرَقَstealsالسَّمْعَthe hearingفَأَتْبَعَهُۥthen follows himشِهَابٌa burning flameمُّبِينٌclear
Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame
وَالْأَرْضَAnd the earthمَدَدْنَاهَاWe have spread itوَأَلْقَيْنَاand [We] castفِيهَاthereinرَوَاسِىَfirm mountainsوَأَنبَتْنَاand [We] caused to growفِيهَاthereinمِنofكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingمَّوْزُونٍwell-balanced
And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madeلَكُمْfor youفِيهَاthereinمَعَايِشَmeans of livingوَمَنand whomلَّسْتُمْyou are notلَهُۥfor himبِرَازِقِينَproviders
And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers
وَإِنAnd notمِّن(is) anyشَىْءٍthingإِلَّاbutعِندَنَاwith Usخَزَآئِنُهُۥ(are) its treasuresوَمَاand notنُنَزِّلُهُۥٓWe send it downإِلَّاexceptبِقَدَرٍin a measureمَّعْلُومٍknown
And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure
وَأَرْسَلْنَاAnd We have sentالرِّيَاحَthe windsلَوَاقِحَfertilizingفَأَنزَلْنَاand We sent downمِنَfromالسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًwaterفَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوهُand We gave it to you to drinkوَمَآAnd notأَنتُمْyouلَهُۥof itبِخَازِنِينَ(are) retainers
And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers
وَإِنَّاAnd indeed Weلَنَحْنُsurely [We]نُحْيِىِWe give lifeوَنُمِيتُand We cause deathوَنَحْنُand Weالْوَارِثُونَ(are) the Inheritors
And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyعَلِمْنَاWe knowالْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَthe preceding onesمِنكُمْamong youوَلَقَدْand verilyعَلِمْنَاWe knowالْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَthe later ones
And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]
وَإِنَّAnd indeedرَبَّكَyour LordهُوَHeيَحْشُرُهُمْwill gather themإِنَّهُۥIndeed Heحَكِيمٌ(is) All-WiseعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing
And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyخَلَقْنَاWe createdالْإِنسَانَhumankindمِن(out) ofصَلْصَالٍsounding clayمِّنْfromحَمَإٍblack mudمَّسْنُونٍaltered
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud
وَالْجَآنَّAnd the jinnخَلَقْنَاهُWe created itمِنfromقَبْلُbeforeمِنfromنَّارِfireالسَّمُومِscorching
And the jinn We created before from scorching fire
وَإِذْAnd whenقَالَsaidرَبُّكَyour Lordلِلْمَلَآئِكَةِto the AngelsإِنِّىIndeed Iخَالِقٌ(will) createبَشَرًاa human beingمِّن(out) ofصَلْصَالٍclayمِّنْfromحَمَإٍblack mudمَّسْنُونٍaltered
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud
فَإِذَاSo whenسَوَّيْتُهُۥI have fashioned himوَنَفَخْتُand [I] breathedفِيهِinto himمِنofرُّوحِىMy spiritفَقَعُواْthen fall downلَهُۥto himسَاجِدِينَprostrating
And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration
فَسَجَدَSo prostratedالْمَلَآئِكَةُthe Angelsكُلُّهُمْall of themأَجْمَعُونَtogether
So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely
إِلَّآExceptإِبْلِيسَIblisأَبَىٰٓHe refusedأَنtoيَكُونَbeمَعَwithالسَّاجِدِينَthose who prostrated
Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated
قَالَHe saidيَا إِبْلِيسُO Iblis!مَاWhatلَكَ(is) for youأَلَّاthat notتَكُونَyou areمَعَwithالسَّاجِدِينَthose who prostrated
[Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate
قَالَHe saidلَمْnotأَكُنI amلِّأَسْجُدَ(one) I prostrateلِبَشَرٍto a humanخَلَقْتَهُۥwhom You createdمِن(out) ofصَلْصَالٍclayمِّنْfromحَمَإٍblack mudمَّسْنُونٍaltered
He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud
قَالَHe saidفَاخْرُجْThen get outمِنْهَاof itفَإِنَّكَfor indeed youرَجِيمٌ(are) expelled
[Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled
وَإِنَّAnd indeedعَلَيْكَupon youاللَّعْنَةَ(will be) the curseإِلَىٰtillيَوْمِ(the) Dayالدِّينِ(of) [the] Judgment
And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense
قَالَHe saidرَبِّO my Lord!فَأَنظِرْنِىٓThen give me respiteإِلَىٰtillيَوْمِ(the) Dayيُبْعَثُونَthey are raised
He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected
قَالَHe saidفَإِنَّكَThen indeed youمِنَ(are) ofالْمُنظَرِينَthe ones given respite
[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved
إِلَىٰTillيَوْمِthe Dayالْوَقْتِ(of) the timeالْمَعْلُومِwell-known
Until the Day of the time well-known
قَالَHe saidرَبِّMy Lord!بِمَآBecauseأَغْوَيْتَنِىYou misled meلَأُزَيِّنَنَّsurely I will make (evil) fair-seemingلَهُمْto themفِىinالْأَرْضِthe earthوَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْand I will mislead themأَجْمَعِينَall
[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all
إِلَّاExceptعِبَادَكَYour slavesمِنْهُمُamong themالْمُخْلَصِينَthe ones who are sincere
Except, among them, Your chosen servants
قَالَHe saidهَٰذَاThisصِرَاطٌ(is) the wayعَلَىَّto Meمُسْتَقِيمٌstraight
[Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight
إِنَّIndeedعِبَادِىMy slavesلَيْسَnotلَكَyou haveعَلَيْهِمْover themسُلْطَانٌany authorityإِلَّاexceptمَنِthose whoاتَّبَعَكَfollow youمِنَofالْغَاوِينَthe ones who go astray
Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators
وَإِنَّAnd indeedجَهَنَّمَHellلَمَوْعِدُهُمْ(is) surely the promised place for themأَجْمَعِينَall
And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all
لَهَاFor itسَبْعَةُ(are) sevenأَبْوَابٍgatesلِّكُلِّfor eachبَابٍgateمِّنْهُمْamong themجُزْءٌ(is) a portionمَّقْسُومٌassigned
It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated
إِنَّIndeedالْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousفِى(will be) inجَنَّاتٍGardensوَعُيُونٍand water springs
Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs
ادْخُلُوهَاEnter itبِسَلَامٍin peaceاٰمِنِينَsecure
[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]
وَنَزَعْنَاAnd We (will) removeمَاwhatفِى(is) inصُدُورِهِمtheir breastsمِّنْofغِلٍّrancorإِخْوَانًا(they will be) brothersعَلَىٰonسُرُرٍthronesمُّتَقَابِلِينَfacing each other
And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other
لَاNotيَمَسُّهُمْwill touch themفِيهَاthereinنَصَبٌfatigueوَمَاand notهُمtheyمِّنْهَاfrom itبِمُخْرَجِينَwill be removed
No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed
نَبِّىءْInformعِبَادِىٓMy slavesأَنِّىٓthat IأَنَاI amالْغَفُورُthe Oft-Forgivingالرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful
[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful
وَأَنَّAnd thatعَذَابِىMy punishmentهُوَitالْعَذَابُ(is) the punishmentالْأَلِيمُthe most painful
And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment
وَنَبِّئْهُمْAnd inform themعَنaboutضَيْفِ(the) guestsإِبْراَهِيمَ(of) Ibrahim
And inform them about the guests of Abraham
إِذْWhenدَخَلُواْthey enteredعَلَيْهِupon himفَقَالُواْand saidسَلَامًاPeaceقَالَHe saidإِنَّاIndeed weمِنكُمْ(are) of youوَجِلُونَafraid
When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you
قَالُواْThey saidلَا(Do) notتَوْجَلْbe afraidإِنَّاindeed weنُبَشِّرُكَ[we] bring glad tidings to youبِغُلَامٍof a boyعَلِيمٍlearned
[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy
قَالَHe saidأَبَشَّرْتُمُونِىDo you give me glad tidings?عَلَىٰٓonأَنalthoughمَّسَّنِىَhas overtaken meالْكِبَرُold ageفَبِمَThen about what?تُبَشِّرُونَyou give glad tidings
He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform
قَالُواْThey saidبَشَّرْنَاكَWe give you glad tidingsبِالْحَقِّin truthفَلَاso (do) notتَكُنbeمِّنَofالْقَٰنِطِينَthe despairing
They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing
قَالَHe saidوَمَنAnd who?يَقْنَطُdespairsمِنofرَّحْمَةِ(the) Mercyرَبِّهِۦٓ(of) his Lordإِلَّاexceptالضَّآلُّونَthose who are astray
He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray
قَالَHe saidفَمَاThen whatخَطْبُكُمْ(is) your businessأَيُّهَاOالْمُرْسَلُونَmessengers
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers
قَالُوٓاْThey saidإِنَّآIndeed weأُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sentإِلَىٰtoقَوْمٍa peopleمُّجْرِمِينَcriminals
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
إِلَّآExceptاٰلَthe familyلُوطٍof Lutإِنَّاindeed weلَمُنَجُّوهُمْsurely will save themأَجْمَعِينَall
Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all
إِلَّاExceptامْرَأَتَهُۥhis wifeقَدَّرْنَاWe have decreedإِنَّهَاthat sheلَمِنَ(is) surely ofالْغَابِرِينَthose who remain behind
Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind
فَلَمَّاAnd whenجَآءَcameاٰلَ(to the) familyلُوطٍ(of) Lutالْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers
And when the messengers came to the family of Lot
قَالَHe saidإِنَّكُمْIndeed youقَوْمٌ(are) a peopleمُّنكَرُونَunknown
He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown
قَالُواْThey saidبَلْNayجِئْنَاكَwe have come to youبِمَاwith whatكَانُواْthey wereفِيهِin itيَمْتَرُونَdisputing
They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing
وَأَتَيْنَاكَAnd we have come to youبَالْحَقِّwith the truthوَإِنَّاand indeed weلَصَادِقُونَsurely (are) truthful
And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful
فَأَسْرِSo travelبِأَهْلِكَwith your familyبِقِطْعٍin a portionمِّنَofالَّيْلِthe nightوَاتَّبِعْand followأَدْبَارَهُمْtheir backsوَلَاand notيَلْتَفِتْlet look backمِنكُمْamong youأَحَدٌanyoneوَامْضُواْand go onحَيْثُwhereتُؤْمَرُونَyou are ordered
So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded
وَقَضَيْنَآAnd We conveyedإِلَيْهِto himذَٰلِكَ[that]الْأَمْرَthe matterأَنَّthatدَابِرَ(the) rootهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ(of) theseمَقْطُوعٌwould be cut offمُّصْبِحِينَ(by) early morning
And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning
وَجَآءَAnd cameأَهْلُ(the) peopleالْمَدِينَةِ(of) the cityيَسْتَبْشِرُونَrejoicing
And the people of the city came rejoicing
قَالَHe saidإِنَّIndeedهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseضَيْفِى(are) my guestsفَلَاso (do) notتَفْضَحُونِshame me
[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me
وَاتَّقُواAnd fearاللهَAllahوَلَاand (do) notتُخْزُونِdisgrace me
And fear Allah and do not disgrace me
قَالُوٓاْThey saidأَوَلَمْDid not?نَنْهَكَwe forbid youعَنِfromالْعَالَمِينَthe world
They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people
قَالَHe saidهَٰٓؤُلَآءِTheseبَنَاتِىٓ(are) my daughtersإِنifكُنتُمْyou would beفَاعِلِينَdoers
[Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]
لَعَمْرُكَBy your lifeإِنَّهُمْindeed theyلَفِىwere inسَكْرَتِهِمْtheir intoxicationيَعْمَهُونَwandering blindly
By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُSo seized themالصَّيْحَةُthe awful cryمُشْرِقِينَat sunrise
So the shriek seized them at sunrise
فَجَعَلْنَاAnd We madeعَالِيَهَاits highest (part)سَافِلَهَاits lowestوَأَمْطَرْنَاand We rainedعَلَيْهِمْupon themحِجَارَةًstonesمِّنofسِجِّيلٍbaked clay
And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَآيَاتٍ(are) the Signsلِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَfor those who discern
Indeed in that are signs for those who discern
وَإِنَّهَاAnd indeed itلَبِسَبِيلٍ(is) on a roadمُّقيمٍestablished
And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road
إِنَّIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَthatلَآيَةًsurely (is) a Signلِّلْمُؤمِنِينَfor the believers
Indeed in that is a sign for the believers
وَإِنAnd indeedكَانَwereأَصْحَابُ(the) companionsالْأَيْكَةِ(of) the woodلَظَالِمِينَsurely wrongdoers
And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers
فَانتَقَمْنَاSo We took retributionمِنْهُمْfrom themوَإِنَّهُمَاand indeed they bothلَبِإِمَامٍ(were) on a highwayمُّبِينٍclear
So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyكَذَّبَdeniedأَصْحَابُ(the) companionsالْحِجْرِ(of) the Rocky Tractالْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers
And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers
وَآتَيْنَاهُمْAnd We gave themاٰيَاتِنَاOur Signsفَكَانُواْbut they wereعَنْهَاfrom themمُعْرِضِينَturning away
And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away
وَكَانُواْAnd they used (to)يَنْحِتُونَcarveمِنَfromالْجِبَالِthe mountainsبُيُوتًاhousesاٰمِنِينَsecure
And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُBut seized themالصَّيْحَةُthe awful cryمُصْبِحِينَ(at) early morning
But the shriek seized them at early morning
فَمَآAnd notأَغْنَىٰavailedعَنْهُمthemمَّاwhatكَانُواْthey used (to)يَكْسِبُونَearn
So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn
وَمَاAnd notخَلَقْنَاWe createdالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَالْأَرْضَand the earthوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَآ(is) between these twoإِلَّاexceptبِالْحَقِّin truthوَإِنَّAnd indeedالسَّاعَةَthe Hourلَآتِيَةٌ(is) surely comingفَاصْفَحِSo overlookالصَّفْحَ(with) forgivenessالْجَمِيلَgracious
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness
إِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour LordهُوَHeالْخَلَّاقُ(is) the Creatorالْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower
Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlyاٰتَيْنَاكَWe have given youسَبْعًاsevenمِّنَofالْمَثَانِىthe oft-repeatedوَالْقُرْآنَand the QuranالْعَظِيمَGreat
And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an
لَا(Do) notتَمُدَّنَّextendعَيْنَيْكَyour eyesإِلَىٰtowardsمَاwhatمَتَّعْنَاWe have bestowedبِهِۦٓwith itأَزْوَاجًا(to) categoriesمِّنْهُمْof themوَلَاand (do) notتَحْزَنْyou grieveعَلَيْهِمْover themوَاخْفِضْAnd lowerجَنَاحَكَyour wingلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believers
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers
وَقُلْAnd sayإِنِّىٓIndeed Iأَنَا[I] amالنَّذِيرُa warnerالْمُبِينُclear
And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner
كَمَآAsأَنزَلْنَاWe sent downعَلَىonالمُقْتَسِمِينَthose who divided
Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators
الَّذِينَThose whoجَعَلُواhave madeالْقُرْاٰنَthe Quranعِضِينَ(in) parts
Who have made the Qur'an into portions
فَوَرَبِّكَSo by your Lordلَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْsurely We will question themأَجْمَعِيْنَall
So by your Lord, We will surely question them all
عَمَّاAbout whatكَانُواthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَdo
About what they used to do
فَاصْدَعْSo proclaimبِمَاof whatتُؤْمَرُyou are orderedوَأَعْرِضْand turn awayعَنِfromالْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists
Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists
إِنَّاIndeed Weكَفَيْنَاكَ[We] are sufficient for youالْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ(against) the mockers
Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers
الَّذِينَThose whoيَجْعَلُونَset upمَعَwithاللهِAllahإِلَٰهًاgodاٰخَرَanotherفَسَوْفَBut soonيَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know
Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know
وَلَقَدْAnd verilyنَعْلَمُWe knowأَنَّكَthat [you]يَضِيقُ(is) straitenedصَدْرُكَyour breastبِمَاby whatيَقُولُونَthey say
And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say
فَسَبِّحْSo glorifyبِحَمْدِwith the praiseرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordوَكُنand beمِّنَofالسَّاجِدِينَthose who prostrate
So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]
وَاعْبُدْAnd worshipرَبَّكَyour Lordحَتَّىٰuntilيَأْتِيَكَcomes to youالْيَقِينُthe certainty
And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death)
